The term '“brand” or “branding” gets thrown around a lot. How can you tell if yours is doing its job? Here’s a quick gut-check to see if you are leaving the right impression on your leads and customers.

A strong brand typically excels in several key areas:

1. Brand Identity

  • Clear Brand Mission: Does the brand have a well-defined mission statement?

  • Consistent Visuals: Are the logo, colors, and typography consistent across all platforms?

  • Unique Value Proposition: Is it clear what makes the brand different from competitors?

  • Defined Values: Do you have a set of definitive values and are they understood by your team? Better yet, do you operate with them in mind?

2. Brand Awareness

  • Recognition: Do people recognize the brand name or logo?

  • Market Presence: Is the brand visible on relevant platforms (social media, websites, etc.)?

  • Customer Recall: Do customers recall the brand when thinking about its category?

3. Customer Perception

  • Positive Reputation: Does the brand have positive reviews and testimonials?

  • Trustworthiness: Do customers feel they can trust the brand?

  • Emotional Connection: Does the brand resonate emotionally with its audience?

4. Customer Engagement

  • Active Social Media Presence: Is the brand actively engaging with customers on social media?

  • Responsive Communication: Does the brand respond promptly to customer inquiries and feedback?
